Master of Business Administration (MBA)
Norwich University in Northfield, VT
Norwich University’s Master of Business Administration (MBA) program, which is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), equips working adults with the specialized skills and knowledge needed to transition to a career in the business arena or advance into a leadership role within their organizations. Increasingly, an MBA degree is the minimum requirement for some of the best careers in management, finance, and other business areas. Rooted in both theory and practice, our online MBA curriculum gives students a comprehensive foundation in core business areas including operations, finance, marketing, and strategic resource management as well as ongoing opportunities to apply that core knowledge to case studies and projects geared toward their workplaces and other organizations. Depending on their career goals, students can pursue a general MBA degree or focus their studies on one of six concentrations in project management, construction management, energy management, finance, organizational leadership, or supply chain management and logistics. Our online MBA program culminates in an independent research project that students complete over the course of their final three concentration seminars. Using concepts learned in each seminar, students develop a set of strategies for identifying business solutions and achieving business improvement in their current workplaces or other relevant organizations. Depending on their case study subjects, students can present this substantive body of research to their current employers to generate immediate value within their organizations or use it as a work sample for prospective employers. At Norwich, we believe that people of integrity with a strong moral foundation and personal ethics are needed in business today more than ever. This is true whether that business is a multinational corporation, a small start-up, or even something we don't traditionally think of as a business such as a branch of service or an NGO. With the complexity of the financial markets, the interconnectedness of our global system, and the speed with which modern enterprises adapt to technology, populations shifts, and consumer demand, the knowledge and skills acquired in a graduate-level business program are critical. Couple that knowledge and skill with the courage to lead with conviction and you've arrived at something in short supply: the qualities that typify the Norwich MBA alumni body and are taught throughout our curriculum. Perhaps that’s why 91% of our alumni survey* respondents said they would recommend the Norwich MBA to someone they know. One way to evaluate business degree programs is by thinking about which careers they could prepare you for, and the job growth for each related business profession. With courses that include business management and business operations, an MBA can be distinct in its career flexibility. The Norwich Master of Business Administration program helps position graduates for advancement into management-level positions within their organizations or for entry into the business world. In addition to foundational knowledge in core business areas such as operations, finance, marketing, and strategic resource management, our graduates emerge with specialized expertise in one of five concentrations: project management, organization leadership, supply chain management and logistics, construction management, or finance. Our graduates have encountered great success working in the private, public, and non-profit sectors in areas ranging from financial services, technology, and manufacturing to hospitality, design, and education. A recent alumni survey showed that 89% of our MBA respondents said they acquired practical skills through the Norwich MBA program that they can apply on the job. As well, 76% of respondents felt their Norwich education gave them a competitive edge in the job market.
